Having played professionally in England and Canada, Max began his coaching career at a young age and now holds a UEFA ‘A’ Licence.

He has held multiple coaching roles at Sheffield Wednesday Academy, working with age groups from U9 to U18. In 2018, he was appointed First Team Coach at Oldham Athletic in League Two and also had a brief coaching stint at Derby County’s Academy.

From 2019, Max spent two seasons with Gold Coast Knights, starting as Assistant Coach before stepping up as Head Coach of the first team.

Most recently, he was appointed Head Coach of Burleigh FC, where he made an immediate impact, leading the team to a third-place finish and securing finals football for the first time in years.

Since joining Core Football, Max has made a significant impact within the community and across Queensland. His experience is invaluable, and he remains fully committed to mentoring, inspiring, and developing aspiring players across the country.

Paul O’Brien completed his second season with Gold Coast United in 2021, following stints with Gold Coast Knights, Heidelberg United, and Redlands FC. With over 100 National Premier League appearances, he has competed at the highest levels of Queensland and Victorian football, winning multiple trophies along the way.

In November 2021, Paul founded Core Football with a clear mission, to develop players and shape great individuals through unique, high performance training.

Paul is currently working towards his FFA B Licence accreditation and Certificate IV in Mental Health Studies.

His coaching experience includes roles with Gold Coast Knights and Gold Coast United SAP Team Programs, as well as involvement in Soccer X Accelerated Development Programs, Talent ID Workshops across multiple states, and elite training events with professional coaches and players.

Most recently, he served as Technical Director at Burleigh Heads FC.

As Core Football enters its fourth year, its growth and impact continue to expand, with even greater opportunities on the horizon.

Oskar, the recent treble winner at Gold Coast Knights, brings extensive experience with over 80 NPL games and a season in the A-League with Western United. Focused on enhancing the technical aspects of the game, Oskar is dedicated to closely collaborating with players to maximise their potential.

At 22, Lua Suero brings a wealth of football experience to Core Football Elite. Hailing from the Gold Coast, Lua recently completed a two-year stint in the USA, where she played at a D1 college and graduated with a degree in psychology. Her football journey began at age 9, quickly rising to represent Queensland at the National Youth Championship, where she won a national title. By 14, she made her mark in the NPL Women’s league, and at 16, she spent six weeks training with the Manchester United Women’s U23 team. Lua also played with Brisbane Roar NTC before heading to the USA. Her experience, passion, and commitment will help inspire the next generation at Core Football Elite.

Danny Morton began his playing career within the academy set ups at Bradford City and Blackburn Rovers. He was then scouted by championship side Huddersfield Town and signed a professional contract where he also completed his UEFA Level 2 Coaching Badge and gained a Diploma in Sports Performance and Nutrition.

Danny moved to Australia in 2014 where he had several coaching roles between Magic United and Gold Coast Knights. Morton has since delivered the girls program at Magic since 2019 and has been a big driver behind getting girls involved in football on the Gold Coast and offering team equal opportunities.

Danny is currently the girls technical director at Magic United where he also completed his FFA B Licence Certification. Morton was recently awarded the community Coach of the Year for the 2022 season.

Connor Maguire is an exceptional young talent, known for his dedication and consistency. Connor has shown exceptional growth and passion over the last few years, making him a player to watch in the years ahead.
